William Franklin “Bill” Swob Sr., 82, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born April 23, 1934, in Shelby County, Ohio to the late Ralph E. and Lucille (Myers) Swob. On July 6, 1989, he married Mary (Dunn) Swob and she survives.
Bill is survived by children; Ralph E. (Theresa) Swob of Covington, Roy E. Swob of West Manchester, Melissa Jeffers of Bradford, Michelle Grody of Troy, Stacie Edwards of Sidney, three stepdaughters, (15) grandchildren, (17) great grandchildren, sisters, Patricia (Richard) McMaken of Covington, Carolyn Stone of Houston, and sister-in-law, Jean Swob of Houston.
Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Barb Swob, son, William Franklin “Homer” Swob Jr., brother, Bob Swob, and sister, Jeanette Winemiller, and great grand-daughter, Millie Phillips.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #3998 of Covington, and Moose Lodge of Piqua. He attended the First Baptist Church of Bradford. He retired from Copperweld Corporation in Piqua after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Coon Hunters Association as he was an avid coon hunter and outdoorsman. He was a long time fan of the Houston Wildcats and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. For over thirty years he was an avid fan of The Young & Restless.
Family and friends may visit from 10 to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens, Hardin.
