Margaret "Maggie" E. (Gilbert) Allen

Margaret “Maggie” E. Allen, age 76, of Piqua, passed away November 1, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

She was born April 15, 1941 in Jackson, Kentucky,  to the late Victor Gilbert and Stella (Combs) Fitzpatrick.

On August 3, 1957, she married Bernard L. Allen and they have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Also surviving are children; Robert W. Allen of Piqua, Bernard L. (Margie) Allen II of Sidney, Timothy W. (Janie) Allen of Piqua, William A. (Bobbi) Allen of Piqua, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brothers; Charles (Opal) Gilbert of Boonsville, KY., Jerry (Esther) Fitzpatrick of Indianapolis, IN., Timothy (Gerri) Fitzpatrick of Sidney, and David (Jeannine) Fitzpatrick of Piqua.

She was preceded in death by brothers; George Gilbert and Edward Fitzpatrick.

Margaret was a member of the Lockington New Beginnings  Church in Lockington.  She was owner and operator of the Locks Curl Beauty Salon in Lockington, and retired from Wilson Hospice Health Care in Sidney.  She enjoyed quilting, flowers, crafts, bird watching, reading, camping, fishing at Lake Erie, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Christine Mertz, officiating.  Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Hardin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilson Hospice Health Care in Margaret’s memory.

The staff of Adams Funeral Home has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
