If ever there was a man that loved the Lord it was Elder Johnson. I was saddened when I heard of Elder Johnson's passing, but then I realized that is what he lived for, to one day be with the Lord. I thought of a sermon he preached once and his topic was "If loving God is wrong I don't want to be right." He fought a good fight, he kept the faith, now there is prepared for him a crown of glory eternal in heaven. Now he can hear the Lord say, "Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord. R.I.H. Elder Johnson. You have left a great example for us to follow. Standing with you in prayer during your time of sorrow.

Claudie and I served together on the Board of the Black Achievers Scholarship Committee since its beginning in 1987. His locality to it and belief in the Black youth of Shelby was strong. We are all better for his effort and commitment. God, family and community,...a good man. I will miss him. Sympathy, prayers and peace to all.
