Roy E. “Butch” Stone, Sr., age 73, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Butch was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 9, 1942, to the late Roy Oscar Stone and Henrietta Viola Orndorff Stone Vance. He was married to Ruthie (Weaver) Stone, on July 25, 2000, and she survives.
Butch is also survived by two sons, Roy “Butch” Stone, Jr., and fiance,’ Darla Chance, of Vandalia, Charles “Chuck” (Diane) Stone, of Anna; four grandchildren, Kevin, Nicole, Jake and Ben Stone; one brother, Larry Stone, of Lockington; brother-in-law, Jim Russell, of Piqua; and Tom Martin, who was like a son to Roy. They worked together since the age of 15 and Tom stood by his side till the very end.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy (Stone) Russell.
Butch had retired from the Sidney Body Shop after over 20 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed watching college and professional football, and Nascar Racing. He was a big collector of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia and old cars. He loved his family, and he enjoyed spending time with his two sons.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 11, 2015, from 12-2 p.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio.
