Robert E. Swob

Robert E. Swob, age 83, of Shelby County, Ohio,  passed away February 3, 2016 at Wilson Health in Sidney.

He was born November 29, 1932 in Houston, to Ralph and Lucile (Myers) Swob.  He married Jean Marie (Ike) Swob on June 8, 1957 and she survives.

Robert is also survived by children; Pam Swob of Sidney, Cynthia Swob of Sidney, Cheryl (Jim) Smith of Sidney, Robert (Chae) Swob of Ft. Worth, TX., 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brother; William (Mary) Swob of Sidney, sisters; Patricia (Richard) McMaken of Covington and Carolyn Stone of Houston.

Robert was preceded in death by a son; Rick Swob, grandsons; Andrew Swob  and Aaron Jones, and sister, Jeannette Winemiller.  

Robert was a member of  New Hope United Methodist Church of Sidney.  He served in the U S Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #217 in Sidney.He retired from Copeland Corporation after 40 years of faithful service where he worked in the Metrology Lab.  Robert enjoyed traveling to Florida, and mushroom hunting.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeye’s, Cincinnati Bengal’s, Nascar, Dale Earnhardt Jr., WWE and UFC  fighting.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor John Leighty, officiating.  Full military services will be provided by the American Legion Post #217.  Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road Sidney, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the family.
