William "Ricky" Gibson

William “Ricky” Gibson, age 63, of Sidney, passed away April 24, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 2, 1959, in Jellico, Tennessee, to the late Junior Gibson and Anna (Day) Gibson, who resides in Corbin, Ky.

On February 24, 1979, he married DeeDee (Lawrence) Gibson and she survives along with daughter, Brittany Nicole (Daniel) Estes of Houston, and grandsons, Peyton and Trevor Estes.  Also surviving are brother, Roger Gibson of Sidney, sisters, Tina Gibson of Corbin, Ky., Gina Barnett of Corbin, Ky., step-sisters, Misty Johnson and Viva (Charles White III) Johnson of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by brother, Eddie Ray Gibson and step-mother, Cynthia Gibson.

William was a 1977 graduate of Sidney High School and of the Baptist faith.  He was retired from manufacturing.  He was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers football and University of Kentucky basketball. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Fore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, in William’s memory.
