Werter L. Hoy

WERTER LEE HOY, age 83, of Sidney passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.  He was born on January 12, 1938 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to the late Werter Lorn and Gladys (Smith) Hoy.  On June 15, 1968, he married Miriam (Sargent) Hoy and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Werter is survived by  five children: Will Hoy of Bellefontaine, Susan (Dan) Coy of Sidney, Ralph (Tammy) Prall of Maplewood, David (Mary) Prall of Urbana and Cathy Dunn of Goreville, IL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his faithful dog: Skye; many nieces and nephews; and extended racing family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

Werter was an avid race fan, especially Sprint racing.  He enjoyed going to race tracks all over the country.  Werter went to over 60 different tracks.  He retired from Copeland after 42 years of faithful service.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.
