Wayne A. Raterman

Wayne A. Raterman, age 73, of Anna, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 27, 1948 in Sidney, to the late Vincent Raterman and Angela (Varno) Raterman.

Wayne is survived by sister, Joan (Kermit) Nuesmeyer of Zanesfield, Ohio, brothers,  Dale (Linda) Raterman of Jackson Center, Tony (Linda) Raterman of Botkins, Michael (Cindy) Raterman of Wapakoneta, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Botkins, a 1966 graduate of Botkins High School.  Wayne was a proud veteran of the U S Army from 1968 – 1970 serving in Vietnam. He worked for many years at Airstream in Jackson Center and retired from the CSX Railroad. Wayne loved to hunt and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State athletics. He enjoyed spending his time playing softball.

Family and friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins.  Full military honors will be performed by the U S Army and Shelby County Veterans.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice in Wayne’s memory.
