Wayne Brockman

Wayne F. Brockman died peacefully on September 13, 2024, at the age of 95.  He was born in Sidney on November 1, 1928 to the late William H. and Margaret (Klindworth) Brockman.  He was one of eight children.  He was the last member of his immediate family.  Wayne graduated from Anna High School in 1946 and was a veteran serving as an Engineer in the Army stationed in Germany.

Wayne owned the first TV store in Jackson Center, OH, selling and repairing TV’s.  Later, he worked for Crown Corporation in New Bremen and in Chicago, as a branch manager.  Upon returning to Sidney, he worked for Fram Corporation in Greenville, before becoming secretary and manager for Eagles Lodge for 25 years.

Wayne and his first wife, Barbara (Cain) Brockman, who is deceased, had one son: Dale (Kathleen) Brockman, who survives with 2 grandsons: Eric (Kathryn) and Ryan; and 2 great grandchildren: Alex and Alyssa.  He later married Mary (Barhorst), who is also deceased, with whom he shared five stepchildren: Ken (Connie) Barhorst, Linda (Dan) Wallace, Connie (Dave) Hare, Anna (Bill) Costello and Jean Swiger, who is deceased.  Through them, he had an addition 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Wayne loved family gatherings, pontooning on Lake Loramie, playing cards, traveling and bingo at Dorothy Love.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sidney American Legion Post 217 and Sidney VFW Post 4239.  He had a quick wit and always brought smiles. Wayne will be missed.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Pastor Steve Edmiston officiating.  Burial will follow in Pearl Cemetery in Anna.  Family will receive friends from 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
