Waldo R. Ammon “Jr”., age 80, of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully April 13, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He was born September 7, 1944, in Sidney, Ohio, to Waldo R. Ammon Sr. and Mary K. (Wildermuth) Ammon.
He is survived by children; Pat (Carol) Ammon of Trotwood, Kim Ammon of Orlando, FL., Ryan (Cori) Sanders of Jackson Center, stepchildren; Rod (Becky) Roberts of Destin, Fl., Chris (Jill) Fussell of Perrysburg, Ohio, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sister Mary Shoffner of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by daughter Kelly Ammon and three grandchildren.
Waldo served in the US Army as a MP during the Vietnam Conflict. He served as a Highway Patrolman and was employed by Sherwin Williams and Dean & Berry Paint stores. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the American Legion in Sidney. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Taborn Cemetery in Gutman, Ohio, with full military honors performed by the Shelby County Veterans and the U S Army.
