Virginia F. Stangel, age 93, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Wilson Health in Sidney. She was born April 7, 1930, in Northridge, Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Bessie D. Voris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight R. Stangel and two sisters, Marjorie (Voris) Rhodes and Helen (Voris) Izor.
Virginia is survived by four sons, Douglas (Glenda Harrison) Stangel, David (Cynthia Fogt) Stangel, Jeffry (Tammy Frazier) Stangel, and Bruce (Mary Shoffner) Stangel, two daughters, Christine L. Stangel and Melody (Robert) Cortese, other survivors include 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, great nieces, and great-great nieces, numerous nephews, great nephews, great-great nephews.
She was a former secretary of Shelby Memory Gardens and worked a number of years for S & E Typewriter Shop. She was also an organist at Hardin Methodist Church for 3 years and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Virginia enjoyed traveling, fishing and making Swedish woven afghans for patients at Dorothy Love, Fair Haven and her whole family.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 12-2:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation.
