Virgil Leo Lykins, age 77, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born August 14, 1946, in Sidney, to the late Raymond D. Lykins and Mary Kathryn Kilgore Lykins Evans.
Virgil is survived by his companion of twenty- one years, Margaret Barnes. Also surviving are daughter, Laura (Brian) Ziegler of Hillard, Ohio, son, Bryan (Sandra) Lykins of Hillard, Ohio, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, brother, Thomas (Connie) Lykins of Wichita, Kansas, sisters; Sarah (Bill) Knasel of Sidney and Anna Mae Lykins Welch of Green Valley, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by brother, Roger D. Lykins.
Virgil was a faithful employee of Copeland Corporation of Sidney for 46 years. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and coaching baseball. He was an avid Ohio State football and Bengal’s football fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Rob Berryman officiating.
