Thomas H. Pinkerton

Thomas H. Pinkerton, age 70, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 18, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Edith (Howell) Pinkerton and Joseph Pinkerton.

He married Debra Magoto on December 20, 1980, and she survives along with three sons: Troy (Shelly) Smedley, Bryan Smedley, Mike (Traci) Smedley, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Thomas had worked at Amos Press in Sidney, Challenge Machinery in Grand Haven, Michigan, and Sidney Trucking. He was a member of the Calvary United Baptist Church of Sidney, where he became an ordained minister in February, 2013. He loved singing in churches, teaching Sunday school, and helping with kid’s ministries. He also enjoyed spending time and helping his loved ones, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Calvary United Baptist Church, 9480 Co. Rd. 25A, North, Sidney, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor David Shepherd officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary United Baptist Church in Thomas’s memory.
