Sylvester Foy

Sylvester “Pete” Foy, age 78, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away at Piqua Manor Nursing Home, Piqua, Ohio, on Saturday, July 29, 2023.  He was born on June 18, 1945, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to the late Handy and Gertrude (Thompson) Foy.

His surviving siblings are Doc Henry (Joan) Foy of Tipp City, Gertha Jelks, Julia Foy Mason, and Delois (Pastor Willie T.) McGhee, all of Sidney; a host of nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Kevin Foy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Sylvester worked at Shelby Hills / S & H Products in Sidney for over 30 years.  He also worked at and participated in the Special Olympics. His illness prevented him from working or participating in events later in his life. Sylvester was of the Christian faith and greeted everyone with a special sense of humor and a contagious smile. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with Pastor Willie T. McGhee officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney.
