Shirley Patricia Lee (Elsass) Bower

Shirley Patricia Lee (Elsass) Bower, age 88, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Wilson Health with her daughters, Sharon and Trina by her side.  She was born November 19, 1936, to the late Vernon and Eve (Allen) Elsass in Sidney, Ohio.  She was one of eight children.

Shirley married the late John Bower on December 11, 1950. Together they had four children, Rodney, Ray, Sharon and Trina.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband John Bower, son Ray Bower, brother Wilford Elsass, Ivan Elsass, Tim Elsass, Nelson Elsass, and sister Dodie (Elsass) Brown.

Shirley is survived by her son Rodney Bower of Minster, Ohio, daughters; Sharon Hewitt (David) of Sidney, Ohio, and Trina Bower (Chris Easterling) of Kettering, Ohio, twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

In her younger days, Shirley and her husband John, enjoyed camping and boating, playing softball, bowling and playing cards. Shirley was very artistic and creative. She enjoyed and was very talented at oil and acrylic painting, ceramics, sewing and crafts.

Shirley was a hard worker and worked several years at Copeland Corporation, starting as a general laborer working her way up to a position of supervisor.

Shirley loved her family and took comfort in her faith. She will be missed greatly by her family.

Services will be held at Only Believe Ministries on October 17, 2025, visitation will commence at 10:00 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim LeMaster officiating. Dinner will be served following the service.
