Shirley Ann Johnson, age 87, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at The Landings in Sidney surrounded by family. She was born on March 9, 1936, in Piqua, to the late Robert Stockton, Sr. and Rosella Johnson-Stockton.
Shirley is survived by her children: Rebecca Lynn Johnson of Sidney, Martha (Ben) Nutall of Salt Lake City, UT, Thomas Christopher Johnson of Sidney, Claudie (Vivian) Johnson, Jr., of Charlotte, NC, Wilbert Johnson of Sidney, Lorain Johnson of Casa Grande, AZ, Kenneth “Gene” (Crystal) Johnson of Houston, TX, David Monroe (Mandy) Johnson of Clyde, OH and Paul (Christy) Johnson of Bellevue, OH; two sisters: Henrietta Stockton and Sylvia Hudson, both of Sidney; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Claudie Johnson, Sr.; her daughter: Della Marie Johnson; three brothers; and four sisters.
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Sidney High School. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Sidney. Shirley retired from Stolle Corporation after 30 years of service. She loved to walk, work word search puzzles, crossword puzzles and play bingo. Shirley also enjoyed playing cards, watching soap operas, Lifetime movies and doing aquatic fitness. Her biggest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren, especially at family cookouts.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Mt. Zion Holy Union Church of God, 324 Grove Street, Sidney, with Pastor Willie McGhee officiating. Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
