Shirley Marie (Williams) Hamblin

Shirley Marie Hamblin, 83, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 27,2026, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy. Shirley was born in Mt. Ash, Kentucky, to the late Nora Cox (Williams) and Doc Williams. She later made her home in Sidney, Ohio, where she built a life centered around family, faith, and simple joys.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Hamblin; her son, Jeffery Hamblin; 7 siblings and her parents.

Shirley is survived by her sister Betty Jo Brewer. Her children, Herman Hamblin Jr. and Amy Fitzgerald (Andrew). She was a proud grandmother to her 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who brought her immense joy. In addition, she is survived by her dear friend and partner, Loren Watkins.

Shirley dedicated many years of her life working at Fair Haven, where she served as a dietitian and housekeeper before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—hunting for morel mushrooms, enjoying game shows with popcorn and cheese cubes, and taking walks through the park with her grandchildren and great ­grandchildren. Above all, Shirley was a loving, caring, and God-fearing woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 4-6 p.m., the funeral will follow at 6:00 p.m. with pastor Jeff Hill officiating.
