Roy R. "Bob" Koons

Roy R. “Bob” Koons, age 86, formerly of St. Mary’s and Sidney, passed away April 11, 2022, at Hospice of Miami County, Troy.  He was born March 14, 1936, in St. Mary’s, Ohio, to the late George Koons and Queen Isabelle (Knous) Koons.

On January 23, 1954, he married Betty Jane (Fahnestock) Koons and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2013.

Bob is survived by children; William (Deborah Lynn Koons) Cisco of West Liberty, Ohio, Shelia Kay Robinson of Sidney, Aaron (Karen) Koons of Sidney, grandchildren; Eric Cisco, Amber Bales Taylor, Joshua Koons, Samantha Koons, great grandchildren; Chelsea Cisco, Hunter Cisco, Autumn Cisco, Gage Cisco, Zavien Cisco, Andrew Taylor, Kayleigh Taylor, Isabella Koons, Liam Koons, Claire Koons, Alena McHargue, step-grandchildren; Desmond Woods, and Isabelle Lawrence. He is also survived by sister Bonnie Ashford of Anna and many nieces, nephews and close lady friend, Pamela Coburn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Koons, brother, Virgil Koons and grandson, Brad Cisco.

Bob was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sidney.  He retired from Emerson Electric and was involved in construction work for over forty years. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School where he enjoyed playing football. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and reading his bible. He loved to work on the family farm and loved spending time with his many family members and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney, Ohio 45365, in Roy’s memory.
