Romer Edward Jones

Romer E. Jones, age 84, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 3:35 PM at the Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. He was born on October 17, 1940, in Whitley City, Kentucky, to the late Romer and Mildred (Duncan) Jones.

On May 6, 2000, Romer married Lelia (Hartman Barger) Jones, who survives. Together they shared many loving and happy years of marriage.  He is also survived by his children, Arthur Jones, Nancy Moses, Nina Gudgel (Jim), Tina Jones, Ed Barger (Jill), Dale Barger (Rita), Darrel Barger (Candace), and Candy Bailey (Dan) and by his sister, Rebecca Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Jones (Cheryl).

Romer retired from The Stolle Corporation in Sidney, Ohio.

Romer will long be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing golf, traveling, and indulging his love of chocolate at every opportunity. He was a man of few words, but of diligent observation. His kindness, steady presence, and gentle humor touched everyone who knew him.

He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County in Romer’s memory.
