Roger Dale Smith

ROGER DALE SMITH, age 72, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018.  He was born on August 25, 1945 in Kenvir, KY to the late Hoyle and Nola (Hall) Smith.

Roger is survived five children: Rhonda Leonard and John Michael Schwab of Sidney, Vonda and Steve Sarver of Sidney, Chris and Regina Leonard of Dayton, Aric and Becki Leonard of Sidney and Dede and Steve Noggle of Canton; grandchildren: Nicole and Thomas Ludwig of Sidney, Jamie and Gustavo Mancella of Georgia, Brooke and Matthew Sarver-Schutt of Sidney, Randy Leonard of Sidney, Christopher Leonard of Sidney, Austin Sarver and Emilie Cavinder of Sidney, Kylie Noggle of Canton, Olivia Noggle of Canton, Grady Noggle of Canton, Jenna Jarrett of Sidney, Jordan and Kathryn Young of Georgia and Jayden Young of Maryland; great grandchildren: Cierra Sarver-Schutt, Maddox Sarver-Schutt, Zevvon Sarver-Schutt, Torryn Sarver-Schutt, Maivve Sarver-Schutt, Landen Ludwig, Kowen Ludwig, Annalynn Ludwig, Kaylee Mancella, Kayson Mancella, Eastan Young, Jaxx Sarver, Stacey Ball and Avery Leonard; by siblings: Joan and Bill Childers of Harlan, KY and Faye Ruby and John Rose of Cincinnati; and lifelong friend: Lynn Marrow.  He was preceded in death by one brother: David Smith.

Roger loved his family, NASCAR and country music.  He never knew a stranger.  Roger was very giving and loved by many.  He retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan.  Roger fought a long battle of lung cancer and he is finally at peace.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney.  A service will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home with Chaplain Gloria Geib officiating.
