Robert T. Meyer, age 75, of Anna passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 19, 1949, in Sidney to the late Aloysius and Mary (Holthaus) Meyer. On February 28, 1975, he married Ruth V. Meyer and she preceded him in death on January 15, 2022.
Robert is survived by three sons: Larry Gene Coverstone of Sidney, Gary (Rhonda) Coverstone of Anna and Daniel C. (Carol J.) Coverstone of Sidney, one sister, Lucy Cook of Sidney, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, twenty-eight great great grandchildren; and one nephew, three nieces, one great nephew and three great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Carolyn Michael and son-in-law Tony Michael, two sisters: Patricia Meyer and Catherine Meyer; one daughter-in-law: Estelina Coverstone; one grandson; one great grandson; and one great granddaughter.
Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCartyville. He was a 1967 graduate of Holy Angels High School. Robert proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps. Robert worked many years at Pangles in Sidney before retiring from Honda. He was a member of Sidney American Legion. Robert enjoyed woodworking and building things. He also collected pull tabs for different organizations. Robert truly loved placing flags on the graves of veteran family and friends who had passed away.
Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCartyville, OH, with Fr. John Tonkin as Celebrant. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney with full military honors performed by Shelby County Honor Guard and US Marine Corps Honor Guard.
