Rita Batton Obituary

Rita Ann Batton, 68, of Sidney, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, surrounded by her beloved family.  She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 2, 1952 to the late Joe and Katherine (Sage) Martin.  On April 25, 1970 she married the love of her life, the late John C. Batton, Sr.  She was a wonderful wife for 51 years, who cared for her husband so much that God knew they still needed to be together and brought her home to be with him.

Rita was a loving mother to John (Kristen) Batton, Jr., Sidney, Brent (Candy) Batton, Sidney, LaCresha (Jeff) Clark, Sidney.  The love that she gave her children was unconditional, she welcomed their friends into her home as they were her own.  She was an amazing grandmother who loved making silly videos, giving make up tutorials and discussing her political conspiracy theories with them.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life and started from day one with Tyler John Batton, Jessica Batton, Katie Clark, Lyndsey Batton, Sarah Clark and Jenna Batton.

Rita was a big sister who nurtured her siblings like a mother to Rick (Marla) Martin, Temperance, Michigan, Larry (Kathy) Martin, Sidney, Ohio, Lee (Anita) Martin, Piqua, Ohio, Joy Counts, Freemont, Ohio and Lisa Trainer, Piqua, Ohio.

Rita lived a life full of love and service for others.  She loved her family who she always put first, and with the strength of her faith, she changed many lives.  She will be missed by so many who she welcomed in with open arms and was a friend that would help them out however she could, even if that meant caring for them during their final hours, she was there.  She still had a wit about her and a contagious smile that would light up a room.

Rita loved gardening, working in her yard, sitting on her front porch with neighbors and friends and most of all caring for her wiener dog Roxy who is missing her morning butter.

The family will e holding a private graveside service for their parents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wilson Hospice.  Oh by he way, Donald Trump is still the president.
