Richard V. Simon

Richard V. Simon, age 89, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Shelby Skilled Nursing in Sidney.  He was born on February 20, 1935, in Russia, OH, to the late Chester and Florence (Coffield) Simon.

Richard is survived by three children: Cheryl (Dennis) Davis, Ronald (Lisa) Simon and Kim (Marvin) Weber, all of Sidney; four grandchildren: Dennis (Jackie) Davis, Brian Davis, Austin Simon and Brandi Weber; one brother: Tom (Bev) Simon of Sidney; and four great grandchildren: Dominic, Dalton, Clara and Mia.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jane Elaine Simon; and two sisters: Deb Latimer and Barb O’Leary.

Richard proudly serviced his country as a member of the US Marine Corps.  He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.  Richard was also a member of Moose Lodge and Eagles, as well as VFW Post 4239 and Sidney American Legion Post 217 in Sidney.  He retired from Wagner Manufacturing after 30 years of service.  Richard enjoyed camping, WII bowling and NASCAR.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH with Fr. John Tonkin officiating.  Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney, with full military honors presented by Sidney Honor Guard and US Marine Corps Honor Guard.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Friday at the funeral home.
