Richard J. Ihle

Richard J. Ihle, 79, of Anna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney.  He was born on May 13, 1941 in Haynes, ND, at home to the late Anton and Eva (Haag) Ihle.

He is survived by eight siblings: Dorothy Neal of Nebraska, Mary Ann Holobinko of Florida, Loretta Raven of Nebraska, Lawrence (Carol) Ihle of Anna, Ohio, Eugene Ihle of Cleveland, Casper Ihle of Lakeview, Ohio, Patty Ihle of Virginia and Francis Seamonds of North Dakota.  He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Edward Ihle, Genevieve Niorhas, Philip Ihle, Matilda Kay, Sabastian Ihle, Jerry Ihle and Veronica Counts.

On June 2, 1962, he married the late Ruth E. “Pidge” (Middleton) Ihle.  During their fifty seven years together, they had three children: Ann K. (Ihle) Seaton with husband Alan, the late Darrin J. Ihle with wife Bonnie and Paula J. (Ihle) Conley with husband Walter.

Besides his children, he was blessed with seven grandchildren: Andrew Seaton, Allison (Seaton) Kent with husband Andy, Alex Seaton, Kayla Ihle, Rachael Ihle, Walter Conley IV with fiancé Melyssa Homan and Laura Conley.  He also has five great grandchildren: Mackenzie Seaton, Ilia Kent, Lael Kent, Zoan Kent and Maverick McGowan.

Richard was employed at Airstream in Jackson Center for Forty-one years.  He was so proud that his daughter, Ann, son-in-law, Alan, grandson, Alex, and his granddaughter’s husband, Andy, followed in his footsteps by working there too.

Family was everything to Richard.  Nothing was more important than spending time with them, especially birthdays, holidays and cookouts.  He also like to cook and read old western books.  Richard was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in McCartyville.

Graveside services just for the family, due to COVID, will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in McCartyville with Fr. Steve Mondiek as celebrant.
