Richard L. Cole

Richard L.Cole, age 86, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at his residence.  He was born to the late Charles Augustus Cole and Mary Matilda (Brickler) Cole.

He married Diane (Schlagetter) Cole, and she preceded him in death January 30, 2006. 

Richard is survived by children; Tim (Alice) Cole of Sidney, David (Karla) Cole of Sidney, Daniel (Karen) Cole of Parma Heights, Ohio, four grandchildren; Brandon (Crissy) Cole, Adrienne (Kevin) Fortkamp, Daniele Cole, Megan Cole and fiance’ Matt Whitmore, five great-grandchildren; Grant Cole, Oliver Fortkamp, Jackson Cole, Ava Fortkamp, Ella Fortkamp.

He was also preceded in death by son, Richard Lee Cole Jr., five brothers; William Cole, Roy A. Cole, Albert H. Cole, Jasper H. Cole, Robert E. Cole, five sisters; Bessy Loffer, Ethel Cole Bishop, Dorothy J. Sumner, Nellie Cole Daniels and Lillian Cole Thomas.

Richard was retired from the City of Sidney.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sidney.  He enjoyed volunteering at the Holy Angels Soup Kitchen and Alpha Center.  He liked fishing and watching old westerns and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. David Chivington officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alpha Center/Holy Angels Soup Kitchen in Richard’s memory.
