Ray J. Weber

Ray J. Weber, 83, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Momentous Health Care, Sidney, Ohio. He was born in Sidney, son of Fred and Lucille Weber, on February 14, 1942. They preceded him in death. On May 29, 1970, he married Linda Elsass, who survives. He is survived by daughter Casey McCarty of Columbus, granddaughters Avigael and Rivkah McCarty of Columbus. He is also survived by niece, Mary (Dwight) Riter of Troy, nephew Fred (Sheila) Luther of Dayton, brother-in-law Dick Luther of Troy. He was preceded in death by sister, Mary Luther, and nephew Don Luther.

Ray was a 1960 graduate of Sidney High School, Miami Jacob College in Dayton, and Urbana University. He passed his CPA exam while working at Monnier and Company, in Sidney and later worked in finance, retiring from Copeland.

He is a veteran of the US Army, serving in Okinawa. He enjoyed many family trips to both coasts and he enjoyed nature photography, and collecting rocks, which now fill every room of his home. He was a huge OSU Buckeye fan, loved working in the yard, and being surrounded by his pets. Ray loved reading history and watching NCIS reruns.

He was devoted to community service via Sidney Kiwanis Club, where he was a member since 1984, and Treasurer from 1997-2024, where he received a Distinguished Service Award. He loved the interactions with his many Kiwanian friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sidney Kiwanis Club, or Shelby County Historical Society. Calling hours will be Friday, April 25, 3-4pm with a memorial service at 4pm at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Rd, Sidney, Ohio with Pastor Mark Kaufman officiating.
