Ralph Edward Boss

RALPH EDWARD “DOC” BOSS, age 97, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at StoryPoint of Troy.  He was born on May 6, 1923 in Toledo to the late George W. and Regina (Paul) Boss.  He married Dorothy Ann (Wical) Boss and she preceded him in death on March 18, 2015.

Ralph is survived by Jim (Nora) Boss of Burlington, WI, Jerry Boss of Sidney and Tom (Brenda) Boss of Anna; grandchildren: Amber (Matt) Figuracion, Derek Boss, Jason Boss, Bailey Boss and Shelby Boss; and greatgrandchildren; Alexis and Sophia Figuracion.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Banta.

Ralph proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Corps during WW II.  He served in the South Pacific and received many awards, including a letter from President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  Ralph was a member of Moose Lodge, VFW Post 4239 and American Legion Post 217.  He loved to play golf at the Moose Lodge and Bowl at Belmar Lanes.  Ralph was a former Commissioner at Custenborder Field.  He enjoyed teaching kids how to play golf at the Moose.  He was also a former coach for both baseball and softball.  Ralph and his wife enjoyed playing cards with friends.  He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.  Ralph was a pattern maker at Ross Aluminum for 33 years.  Doc and Dorothy enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco with Rev. Annie Melick officiating.  Full military honors will be preformed by Shelby County Veterans and the US Marine Corps honor guard.
