Odis G. "OD" Day

Odis G. “OD” Day, age 82, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born on December 7, 1941, in Clairfield, TN, to the late Arthur and Bessie (King) Day.  On December 31, 1984, he married Irene (Gambrel) Day and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Odis is survived by  four children: Darrin Day of Sidney, Denesa Goings of Sidney, Franklin C. Shields of Livingston, KY, and Tammy Combs of Sidney; siblings: William Howard (Mary) Day of Sidney, Donnie (Diana) Day of Sidney, Raymond (Faye) Day of Jellico, TN, Anna Mae Slagle of Corbin, KY, Linda Bowlin of Jellico, TN, and Marie Adkins of Troy; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Darrell Day and Dalan Day; one brother: M. C. Day; one sister: Faye Lay; one granddaughter: Mackenzie Jones; and one grandson: Dailan Day.

Odis was employed at Wagner Manufacturing for 30 years before retiring from All Plumbing and Heating in 2007.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved animals of all kinds, especially his ducks.  Odis was a bee keeper and enjoyed taking care of his bees.  Odis was of the Christian faith.

Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with Pastor Mark Hina officiating.  Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
