NORMA “JEAN” DAVIS-BROWN, age 77, of Sidney, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 28, 2021. She was born on June 17, 1943 in New Bremen to the late Ernest Henry and Mary (Schrock) Heinfeld. On September 30, 1962, she married James J. Davis. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2007. Jean then married Jonah I. Brown on July 30, 2011 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2017.
Jean is survived by her son: James Wade (Brenda) Davis of Sidney; stepson: Jerry (Kim Brubaker) Brown of Sidney; stepdaughter: Erin Brown of Jackson, MS; grandchildren: Cortney Davis, James E. Davis and Jeffrey W. Davis, all of Sidney; step-grandchildren: Ray Lewis III, Bradley Lewis and Erin Brown, all of Sidney, and Brooklyn and Maison, both of Jackson, MS; thirteen great grandchildren: Brian S. Davis, Dustin Luckeydoo, Cheyanne Luckeydoo, Sophia Smith, all of Sidney, James William Davis, Evelyn Michelle Davis,
and Brianna Marie Ratcliff, all of Minster, Dillon Hewitt, Dalan Hewitt and Dalton Hewitt, all of Piqua, Ray Lewis IV and Nolan Lewis, both of Sidney and Brody Keener; one sister: Martha R. Hibner of NM; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean graduated from Sidney High School, class of 1961. She worked as a bookkeeper, long distance operator and, for 20 years, as an administrative assistant/program tech at the Miami County Farm Service Agency. She retired in February, 2006. Jean was a member of the Sidney First Church of the Nazarene, where she was involved in several activities. Jean was a member of Sweet Adeline’s, enjoyed doing puzzles, playing piano and reading her Bible.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Sidney First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney, OH with Pastor Josh Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney.
