Nona J. Kerns

Nona J. Kerns, age 81, of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on August 23, 1941, in Williamsburg, KY, to the late Hazel and Elmore Moses.  On July 13, 1958, she married Ray Trapp and he preceded her in death. On October 29, 1970, she married Glenn Kerns and he also preceded her in death.

Nona is survived by four children: Timothy Trapp and Tamara (Gary) Hawkins, both of Sidney, Tony (Tracy) Trapp of Piqua and Rodney (Lois Ann) Kerns of Williamsburg, KY; siblings: Verlin (Iva) Moses of Sidney, Marlene Layne of Piqua, Mildred (Jerry) Kinder of Williamsburg, KY, and Diane (Earl) Hill of Piqua; eight grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son: Billie Trapp; and siblings: Retha Moses, Kenny Moses, Olen Moses, Lanta Moses, Iva Hughes, Joe Moses, Newman Moses, Vergie Moses and Rick Moses.

Nona attended World Mission for Christ Church in Sidney.  She worked at Emerson-Copeland for 17 years.  Nona enjoyed talking on the telephone and spending time with her family.  Above all else, she enjoyed making people feel good about themselves and introducing people to Christ.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney; with Rev. Mark Strunk and Pastor Joe Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Pt. Jefferson.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
