Mildred Jane Kemp, age 95, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney. She was born September 24, 1929, to Flint J. Slusser and Hazel (Covault) Slusser.
She married Donald E. Kemp August 30, 1953, and he preceded her in death June 1, 2020.
She is survived by brother-in-laws; Art Kemp of Bellefontaine, Jim (Geneva) Kemp of Lexington, Ky., John (Lottie) Kemp of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Tom (Carolyn) Moore of Laguna Woods, California, and unofficial adopted daughter, Terri Scott of Delaware, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, by her parents Flint & Hazel Slusser, infant sister Madeline Slusser, sister-in-law Eilene Kemp, and Martha A. (Kemp) Treen, brother-in-law Ralph (Wilma) Kemp.
Jane grew up working in the family store (Flint’s Appliances) started by her father. Upon his death, Jane and husband Donald operated the store until they both retired. Upon retirement, Jane volunteered her time at FISH for many years. She loved quilting, was a member of the Quilting Club and won many ribbons at the county fair.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor David Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
