Melonie Lee Bowers was born on September 12th, 1949, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 4th, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, following a decline in health. Melonie was the daughter of the late Revered Agnes Pohlabeln and Raymond Pohlabeln, of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Melonie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bowers Jr, who she married on August 20th, 1988. They shared a wonderful 21 years together, before Harold passed away on January 9th, 2010.
Melonie was drawn to the beauty of music from a young age. She possessed a natural talent for singing and her voice could fill a room with warmth and emotion. Whether standing on stage leading a worship service or singing a solo, you could tell that music meant everything to her. She and Harold were also known for their famous spaghetti that would feed hundreds on a weekly basis at their church, Sugarcreek Free Methodist.
Melonie is survived by her daughter, Nikki (Anthony) Bahler of Strasburg, Ohio, a stepson Shawn (Natasha) Bowers of Kentucky, and a sister, Winnie (Chuck) Peterson of St. Mary's, Ohio.
There will be no public funeral.
