Mary M. Kessler Sturm

On Friday, Dec 31, 2021 Mary M. Kessler Sturm passed away peacefully at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, Ohio at the age of 92.

Mary was born in Newport, Ohio to the late Joseph and Bernadine Kessler on March 19, 1929. She had two brothers, Paul and Harold, and a sister, Ann, all deceased.

In 1949, Mary was married to Robert M. Sturm, now deceased. They lived in Sidney and together they had five children, Robert, Jr., Mike, Rick, Richard, and Cathy.  Surviving her are Mike (Kathy) Sturm and Rick Sturm, as well as two grandsons, Jordan (Stephanie) Sturm and Steven (Kayla) Sturm, and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Roman, Joel, Hendrix, and Silas. Also surviving is a favorite nephew, Ron Eustache.

Mary graduated from Holy Angels High School, and after marrying, worked at being a good mother to her children. The family liked to take trips, including flying to destinations in a small airplane with Bob as pilot.

Later in life, Mary worked at Gilardi’s pizza before retirement. She became close friends with Bob Schuette, and together they did a lot of traveling and shared many good times. Mary liked to keep busy with crafting, painting and sewing.

She will be remembered dearly by her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with service to follow at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Chaplain Angela Barfield officiating.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
