Mary F. (Shoffner) Chester

Mary F. Chester, age 82, of Sidney, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her son’s residence. She was born December 31, 1942, in Sidney, to Fred Shoffner and Nellie (Baker) Shoffner.

She married Eldon Chester, and he preceded her in death along with brother Fred Shoffner and sister Roma Pruitt.

Mary is survived by children; Mitch (Teresa) Haynes of Sidney, Steven (Dawn) Shoffstall of Wapakoneta, Scott (Karen) Haynes of Sidney, seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are sisters Georgina Dressman and Becky Van Horn of Sidney and special friend, David Krinkie and daughter Ann.

Mary retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney and is of the Christian faith. She was a 1960 graduate of Fairlawn High School. She loved to target shoot with her son, trap shoot with her special friend David and spend time with family and grandchildren playing Yahtzee.

Graveside service with be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
