Mark Douglas McCombs Jr., 40, of Sidney, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Born August 14, 1985, in Dayton, Ohio, Mark lived a life marked by growth, faith, and redemption. He was a devoted husband, father, mentor, and servant who impacted countless lives through his love for God and for others.
He was the beloved husband of Brandi McCombs and a father to many. To Mark, family was not defined by blood, but by love. He cherished his children Theori, Dominick, Kyra, Julius, Ayva, Avery, Tariana, Ke'Shawn James, and Kinsley; his stepchildren Jordan, Jonah, Alexander, and Jaxson, and many others he lovingly and openly embraced as his own.
Mark is survived by his mother, Carla Thompson Hall (Dayton); his father, Mark D. McCombs Sr.(Dayton); and his brothers, Korey Ward, Cedric Gause Jr., and William McCombs.
He served alongside his wife at Awakenings Christian Fellowship in Piqua, Ohio, where he worked behind the scenes on the soundboard with a heart to serve.
Known to many as "Preach," Mark had a deep passion for ministering, sharing the love of Jesus, and guiding others in their walk with Christ. He also mentored youth through sports and was a proud member of the Lima Warriors semi-professional football team.
In the Christian Music world, he was known as "Marq Muziq," using his God given gifts to inspire, uplift, and lead others to faith. He collaborated with various artists and groups throughout the years, including GFLS and SBG, and co-founded VR Music alongside his best friend, Greg Bonzo.
Above all, Mark will be remembered as a man transformed by God- one who dedicated his life to loving, serving, and pouring into others.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio.
