Mark E. McClain

Mark E. McClain, age 81, of Sidney, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.  He was born January 24, 1944, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late William A. McClain and Betty Rose (McKay) McClain.

 On November 23, 1981, he married Shirley (Watercutter) McClain, and she survives.

 Also surviving are children; Donna (Steve) McMullen, Michael McClain, Lori McClain, Chris (Tillie) Bolin, Lynette Moyer, Robert Carroll Jr., Nickole Carnes, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty- three great grandchildren, siblings; Pat (Ralph)Francis, Kathy Bevans, Margaret (Jerry)Hughes, Marcie Albers, and Sally (Lane) Layman & brother -n-law Gary Kaser. 

He was preceded in death by his son Mark McClain Jr., brothers; William McClain, David McClain, Tom McClain, A sister Susan Kaser, brothers-n-law Dave Albers, Steve Bevans & Chuck Anthony, a son-n-law Keith Moyer & a grandson, Aiden Carroll. 

 Mark graduated from Holy Angels High School in 1962. He was in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era and retired from Ames Department Stores in Punxsutawney, PA.  He enjoyed traveling and adventures with Shirley, carving walking canes, painting anything and everything and woodcarving.  He was also an avid Nascar & Tony Stewart fan. If you knew Mark, you know he loved gadgets & electronics and was known for gifting grandkids the coolest most unique toys. 

 Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery on October 16th.
