Margaret Susan "Sue" Chiles

Margaret Susan Chiles, age 72, of Maplewood, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Lima Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 13, 1949, in Bellefontaine to the late Frederick K. Shafer and Thelma L. (Combs) Shafer Slusser.  On September 13, 1997, she married Mark A. Chiles and he survives.

Sue was a loving mother to her children: Lorri (Mark) Barga, John (Julie) Forsyth, Justin (Kelsey) Chiles and Ashley Hughes.  She is also survived by brothers and sisters: Robert (Teresa) Grant, Joni (Larry) Latimer, Alida Jenkins, Debra Doorman, Judy (Ted) Maddox and Larry Combs; mother-in-law: Eilleen Chiles; sisters-in-law: Linda (John) Hall and Lana Wicker; brother-in-law: Joe Chiles; grandkids: Mary (Jakob) Argabright, Nicole Barga, Zachery (Aimee) Barga, Gabriel Hughes, Christopher Hughes, Philip Speck, Bryan Hale, Tyler Hale and Todd (Ashley) Hale; and many great and great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother: Joan Shafer; and brothers: Larry Evans and Gary Combs.

Sue graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1967.  She loved spending time with her family and her church family.  She loved to sew.  Sue also loved her puppies: Ginger and Buckeye.

Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio, with Pastor Ernie Jones officiating.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
