Margaret Ann Markin passed away on April 11, 2024, at her residence in Sidney, Ohio with her family at her side. She was born on May 26, 1938, in Morgan County, Indiana to Blanche Guy. In March of 1955, Margaret married William Eaton and they were blessed with three daughters, Marcia Hatcher (Don), Janice Cantrell Rowland and Loretta Eaton. William died in May 1972 and Margaret then married Jerry Markin in June 1973. Jerry had four children that Margaret became a stepmother to: Cathy Swoape, Robert Joseph Markin, Paul Markin (Kathy) and Rhonda Watson.
Margaret also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Timothy Hatcher (Emily), Charles Rutherford (Rachel), Michael Rutherford (Colleen), Jason Rutherford, Bryan Rutherford (Jamie), Sean Rutherford (Shanna), John Rutherford (Jackie) and Sheri Loveless. There are also eight step grandchildren: James Aubuchon, Brandon Rhoads, Daniel Markin, Dustin Rulo, Nathan Rulo, Grace Rulo, Kimberly Gibson and Jerry Markin. In addition, there are 32 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a devoted and beloved canine companion named Buddy Ray.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, both husbands and stepdaughter Cathy.
Margaret retired from Copeland Corporation of Sidney in 2000 after 31 years of service. She enjoyed camping, gardening and working in her yard, of which she took great pride.
Funeral services will be on April 18, at 11:00 am at Adams Funeral Home at 1401 Fair Road in Sidney with burial immediately after at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. Pastor Rodney Reynolds will be officiating. The family will receive visitation for two hours prior to the funeral at 11:00.
