Kenneth A. Silverthorn

Kenneth A. Silverthorn, age 81, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Wilson Health in Sidney.  He was born on June 12, 1940, in Sewickley, PA, to the late James and Margaret (Dalby) Silverthorn.  On July 4, 1961, he married Margaret A. (Dobson) Silverthorn and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Linda (Keith) Daniels of Anna; one daughter-in-law: Linda Silverthorn of Sidney; six grandchildren: Anthony Macke, Christopher (Sarah) Macke, Christina Silverthorn, Danielle (Heath) McClintock, Kerrie Daniels and Tiffanie Daniels; and six great grandchildren: Colton, Autumn, Oliver, Saira, Ava and Madelyn.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Steven Silverthorn; and one brother: Thomas Silverthorn.

Kenneth proudly served his country as an eight-year veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was of the Methodist faith.  Kenneth was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217 and Sidney Elks Post 786, where he was Past Exalted Ruler.  Kenneth retired from Crown Equipment in New Bremen.  He enjoyed yard work, building model airplanes and meeting his friends for lunch at McDonald’s.  Above all, Kenneth loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with Pastor DiAnne Karas officiating.  Burial will follow in Pearl Cemetery with full military honors provide by Shelby County Veterans Squad and the US Air Force.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
