Kelly Branscum

Kelly Branscum, age 95, of Sidney, passed away at Fairhaven Nursing Home on August 28, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born on June 30, 1929, in Yamacraw Community, KY, to the late Ulyss and Mary “Lizzie” (Thompson) Branscum.  On November 25, 1953, he married the love of his live, Mildred (Worley) Branscum, who preceded him in death on April 30, 2010.

Kelly is survived by five child: Linda (Rob) Smith of Anna, OH, Randy (Tina) Branscum of Quincy, OH, Joyce (Tom) Ludwig of Sidney, OH, Judy (John) Buckley of Sidney, OH and Jeanie (Clay) Bretz of Waynesboro, VA; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, Kelly was preceded in death by two granddaughters: April Lynn Kay Smith and Ashley Nicole Ludwig; one great granddaughter: Kacey Dawn Swiger; one daughter-in-law: Tina Branscum; five sisters; seven brothers; and his loving dog: Toby.

Kelly was employed for eighteen years with the Stearns Mining Company in Stearns, KY, before moving to Sidney, OH, where he was employed by The Stolle Corporation for twenty three years.  After retiring, Kelly and his wife moved back to Stearns, KY, where he loved gardening and spending summers with his grandchildren.  He was a loving father, grandfather, husband, uncle and son.  He will be truly missed by all.  Kelly was of the Christian faith.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with Pastor Chad Inman officiating.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.  Family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
