John W. “Jay” White, Jr., age 86, of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was born December 18, 1938, in Sidney, Oh to the late John and Arnette (Thompson) White.
Jay graduated Sidney High school where he was a great football and baseball player. After high school he became employed with Monarch Corporation of Sidney where he worked for many years. After leaving Monarch he became a real estate Broker with Re Max and Wagner Realities and was known as the best landlord in town. Jay was an Ohio State, Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jay is survived by 3 children: Jeana Stewart of Toledo, Oh, Mironda White of Orlando, Florida and Gordon White of Sidney, Oh. 2 sisters, Sammy L. White, of Toledo, Oh and Almeda Warren, of Atlanta, Ga.; 6 grandchildren: Janelle, Juan, Jovan, Jerald, Ja’Ina, and Marissa Jay White-Quarles, 12 great-grandchildren, a special nephew Craig (Alaina) White, Columbus, Oh, and Raymond Daniel Sidney, Oh. Bonus children: Carla (William) Norris of Hamden, Oh; Candace (William) Boatmen of Sidney, Oh. Bonus grandchildren: Alonna (Brendon) Guilfoyle, Virginia Beach, VA, Caleb Norris of Lexington, KY, Kennedy Norris of Jackson, Oh. Jasmin Boatman of Sidney, Oh., best friend James Daniel and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Edgar and Eugene White, 2 nephews and 4 nieces and special person in his life Naomi Robbs.
Services will be held at Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday July 30, 2025. Calling hours are 9:00-11:00 service at 11:00.
Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery following service.
