John K. Wilcox

John K. Wilcox, age 89, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  He was born February 23, 1936, in Boone County, N.C. to Arthur S. Wilcox and Nancy Ann (Perkins) Wilcox.

On January 29, 1971, he married Lois (Wildermuth) Wilcox; she preceded him in death October 21, 2021. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.

Left to treasure his memory are children; Mike (Nancy) Burchett, Roger (Dolly) Wilcox, Gordon Burchett, Diane (Joe) Tedder, Brenda (Tom) Thompson, Bruce Sano and Lisa (Larry) Schroer, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

John retired from Stolle Corporation after 40 years of faithful service.  He was of the Christian faith. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and bowling. He bowled many 300-point games and enjoyed the game up to his 89th birthday.  John was a big jokester and loved to make people happy.  He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brent Wright officiating.  Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Sidney in John’s memory.
