John Edward Valentine

John Edward Valentine Sr., age 76, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his residence.  He was born March 24, 1949, in Sidney, to Richard F. Valentine and Eva Marie (Houseman) Valentine.

On October 17, 1970, he married Mary Jane (Miller) Valentine, and she survives.

John is survived by children; John R. (Gayle Wones) Valentine Jr. of Sidney, Mark Edward (Jennifer) Valentine of Sidney, Karen Sue Valentine of St. Paris, Tina Marie Valentine of Sidney, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings; Robert (Diane) Elliott of Sidney, Larry Valentine and Terry (Carol) Valentine, both of Sidney, Frances Brown of Bellefontaine, Tom (Louise) Kirkham of Florida, Harold (Carolyn) Leiss of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by brother, Charles Valentine, son-in-law, Jerry McNeal, daughter-in-law, Shirley Valentine and sister-in-law, Beth Valentine.

John was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Sidney.  He was a 1967 graduate of Fairlawn High School.  John was a Finish Carpenter, retiring after working for over fifty years. He was an avid Norte Dame and Cincinnati Reds fan, especially fond of Pete Rose. He was a member of the Farm Science Review and enjoyed fishing and the Dayton Air Show.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 6 -8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 324 S. Ohio Avenue, Sidney, with Fr. Mark Bredestege officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.
