John T. Hammer

Carol Ann Hammer, age 79, and John T. Hammer Sr., age 80, of Sidney, passed away December 1, 2020.

After 61 years of marriage, they were both called Home within 18 minutes of each other. They were married January 4, 1958. They are both of the Christian faith. They enjoyed being together, spending their time gardening, attending their flowers, and going to the casinos. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish their memory are children; John (Teri) Hammer Jr. of Sidney, Mike Hammer of Piqua, Darrin (Janet) Hammer of Sidney, Bruce (Teresa) Hammer of Sidney, Brenda Hughes of Piqua, many grand and great-grandchildren.

Carol was born May 4, 1941 in Sidney, to the late Ralford Michael and Mary (Barber) Michael.  She is survived by brothers; Charles (Faye) Michael of Sidney, Larry (Barbara) Michael of Elkhart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Bobby Michael, Fred Michael, and sisters; Ruby Scholl and Margaret Didier.

Carol was retired from Copeland Corporation after many years of faithful service.

John T. Hammer was born April 28, 1940 in Sidney, to the late Robert Hammer and Wilma (Scholl) Hammer.  John is survived by brothers; Bill Hammer of Sidney and Joe Hammer of Sidney, and sister Kathleen Ferguson of Sidney.

John retired from the City of Sidney after many years of faithful service.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney, with Chaplain Angela Barfield officiating.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
