Janet C. (Flohre) Fischbach

Janet C. Fischbach, 93, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2023, at Wilson Health, Sidney.  She was born May 5, 1930, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Eugene Flohre and Winifred (Trubee) Flohre.

She married Merlin Fischbach on July 20, 1948, and he preceded her in death September 3, 1990.  She is also preceded in death by brothers; Eugene and Herman Flohre, sister, Patricia Dickey and daughter-in-law Carol Fischbach.

Janet is survived by children; Kathy Otting of Safety Harbor, Florida, Michael Fischbach of Sidney, Jerry Fischbach of New Bremen, Andy (Brenda) Fischbach of Sidney, Lori Wilson of Wapakoneta, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, where she was retired treasurer of the Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society.  She was a prior member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen. She was also a member of the Senior Center of Sidney/Shelby County.   She retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney after 30 plus years of faithful service. 

Janet enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and playing cards. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and her many friends at the Senior Center.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, and Monday, January 22, 2024, from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in New Bremen where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Father Michael Willig officiating.  Burial will be at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen, Ohio.
