Jane M. Steinke

Jane Steinke, 72, of Sidney, passed away peacefully at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at her home with her family at her side.  She was born at Lima’s St. Rita’s Hospital on December 13, 1949 to the late Leonard and Mary (Fortman ) Schipper.

She was a 1968 graduate of Botkins High School. Jane married William Steinke on November 28, 1970 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Botkins and he survives in Sidney.  She was preceded in death by her parents. Jane is survived by daughter Jenny ( Ryan ) Dietz of Tipp City , her sons Scott of Toledo and Matt of Sidney, two grandsons Joey Dietz and Josh Dietz of Tipp City and brothers Robert Schipper, Botkins and Michael Schipper . 

Jane was a faithful Catholic, a loyal partner and friend and wonderful mother. Ever willing to volunteer her time between running her children to activities, she was active in her church and community.

Jane began her secretarial career in March of 1989 at the Immaculate Conception Church under Rev. James J. O’Conner.  She served in that capacity until her retirement on May 30, 2020. Her beautiful spirit and kind demeanor will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Viewing for the public will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 8:30-10:45 AM at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins with The Rev. Patrick Slonoker as Celebrant.   Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery immediately after the Mass.
