James "Jim" N. Simons

James “Jim” N. Simons, age 84, of Sidney, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Wilson Health, Sidney.  He was born November 16, 1940, in Sidney, to the late Wilfred and Hilda (Gehret) Simons.

On July 12, 1958, he married Elaine (Oldiges) Simons, and she passed away September 26, 2022.

Jim is survived by five children; Kimberly (Kevin) Bowman of Sidney, Michael (Amy) Simons of Fairfield, Ohio, Lisa (Tim) Honaker of Sidney, James B. Simons of Jacksonville, Fl., Steven D. Simons of Sidney, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law; Joyce Simons and Donna Cornwell.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Luke Bowman, sister, Norma Jean and brother-in-law, Ross Driskell, sister, Marjorie Massey, brother, John Simons, brothers-in-law, John Oldiges, Robert Oldiges and Tim Oldiges and sister-in-law, Marsha Oldiges.

Jim retired from Ross Aluminum as Vice President of Sales. He was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Sidney. After his retirement, Jim and his wife spent their winters in Florida. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his life-long friend, Dan Davidson. He also enjoyed spending time at the Simons Family Farm in Jackson Center and was an avid Ohio State fan. He loved his family and was always a source of strength and inspiration. He will be loved and missed by many.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Philip Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jim’s memory.
