Howard H. Miller

Howard H. Miller, age 82, of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at home.

Howard was born on February 20, 1942, in Trinity, Indiana to William and Mary (Muhlenkamp) Miller.  He graduated from Bryant High School in Bryant, Indiana.  

He married Betty (Elifritz) Miller on August 4, 1962.  Together they have three children, Debra (Joe) Davidson of Bellefontaine, Cathy (Anthony) Guerrant of Dayton, and Rob Miller of Sidney.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and brothers Fr. Mark MIller and Urban (Ginny) Miller of Missouri.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ralph (Janice) Miller, Ernest (Sandy) Miller, and sister, Julianna Miller.

Howard lived a life full of passion and purpose. In 1971, as he and Betty raised their three young children, he founded Howard’s Tire Service, bringing it to the heart of downtown Sidney. His entrepreneurial spirit thrived as he forged meaningful connections with customers, always striving to provide outstanding service. Even after he “retired,” Howard remained dedicated to the shop, working alongside his son Rob for many years. He often expressed a desire to thank his customers for over 50 years of support, and we take this moment to extend that gratitude on his behalf.

A devoted member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Howard exemplified his faith in all he did. He embraced life’s joys through cherished family gatherings, camping trips, word search puzzles and playful moments with their beloved dog, Gracie. His vibrant spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered; creating a beautiful legacy that will always be remembered.

The viewing will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
