Helen Irene (Heffley) Koons

Helen Irene Koons, age 96, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born on a farm in Crawford County, Ohio, to Guy and Irene (Widick) Heffley on July 29, 1929. 

She married Robert A Koons on October 5, 1947.  There are two surviving children, Ronald (Sandra)Koons of Middletown, Indiana and Cynthia Chamberlin of Sidney.  Three grandchildren, Jessica (Roger) Brown, Matthew Rodgers (longtime friend Jessica), and Daniel Rogers (longtime friend Kristen).  Great grandchildren, Mallory and Brooklyn.  A sister Patricia McNaly of Florida. 

Besides her parents and husband, she has one brother and three sisters deceased.

She worked at G. C. Murphys in early days and later on for Lawson-Dairy Mart for 35 years.  Since retiring she enjoyed watching Golf- the game shows and Me TV the Old Programs.  She also had a book handy as she read all of the time.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson with Chaplain Randy Reed officiating.
