Obituary

Harriet Louise Stutsman Carman Woodard Poore, age 84, of Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Shelby Skilled Nursing in Sidney.  She was born on October 6, 1938 in Sidney to the late Homer Woodrow Stutsman and Francis Harriet Shannon Stutsman Kah.

Harriet is survived by two daughters: Betty (Mark) Byrd, Sr. and Sherry Vonderhuevel, both of Sidney; step children: Jeanette (Duane) Weimer, Jeff (Debbie) Woodard, Alvin Poore, Wayne Poore and Dottie Allen; grandchildren: Shannon (Carl) Marshall, Mark “Buzz” Byrd, Jr., Shawna Dutrow, Tara (Josh Orsborne) Stotler, Ashley (Kevin) Dunn, Chris (Steven Vargo) Carman, Michelle Carman, Kyley (Shawn) Elam and Jason (Brandy) Byrd; and step grandchildren: Heather (Brian) McDonald, Jessica Ronchetti, Michelle (Richard) Stidham, Christie (Donnie) Harvey, Angela (Joel) Falstick, Robert “Robbie” Woodard, III, Jeff (Daye) Woodard, Jr., and Amanda (Brent) Anderson; daughter-in-law: Nancy Carman; brother: Woodrow (Pat) Stutsman; sister-in-law: Rosie Stutsman; brother-in-law: Homer Stangle; sister and brother-in-law: Irene and Dean Haycook; longtime best friend: Helen Marie (Sonny) Nonnemacher; numerous great grandkids; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands: Lawrence “Bud” Carman, Sr., Robert “Bob” Woodard, Sr. and Sterling Poore; son: Lawrence “Buddy” Carman, Jr.; step son: Robert “Rob” Woodard, Jr.; son-in-law: Marion “Tony” Vonderhuevel, Jr.; brother: Homer Stutsman; sisters: Dorothy Stangle and Connie Kah; brother and sister-in-law: John and Geneva Woodard; sisters and brother-in-laws: Evelyn and Russel Evans; Bonnie and Joel Bedgood; Helen and Ted Stempien; brother-in-law: Marvin Woodard; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harold and Pauline Woodard.

Harriet retired from Copeland Corp. after 30+ years.  She loved to dance, sing karaoke and always had a beautiful smile.  Harriet was loved by many at Shelby Skilled Nursing Facility staff and residents.  She also loved to camp at Millweed Campground with Bob, their children and the Woodard Family.

Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH, with Pastor Greg Steinke officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Pt. Jefferson.  Family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
